When I interviewed Ricardo, I asked him about how far cellphones have come and his opinions on them, cell phones for the future. I asked Ricardo if he liked how far cell phones have come and what he thought about the technology today? Ricardo stated “It’s useful, if you use it for the right purposes, simplifies peoples life, and keeps more people in touch.” I do agree with Ricardo, our life is more simplified, a lot of things are at your finger tips. For example, if you have a question, you talk to your phone and some voice will speak back with the answer like Siri from Apple. Some people don't even carry around cameras with them anymore because your phone camera quality is so much better. Cell phones have all the gadgets in one, which is really convenient. Ricardo also said that the phones could be seen as good and bad if you use them the right way, it could help you through a lot. The bad is the sexual harassment, cyber bullying and drama situations get spread a lot faster Ricardo stated. Ricardo also said that it’s a lot easier to keep in touch with friends and family that are distances away, like in different countries for example. Ricardo said that it was a lot harder back in 2002 to even meet up somewhere because the pager was even hard to communicate with at times. This made me think a lot on how us teens now have it a lot easier. They have apps that let you communicate for free, like the “Whatsapp’’ app, that you can text from a different country with wifi.
Cell phones will continue to get better and better, with the way that its going. Just by the look of Ricardo’s face; he seems like he doesn't like how the cellphones are being used now, they are being abused of their use and affect people in the negative ways. Cell Phones have ruined peoples life Ricardo stated, because of people sending nudity and bullying. Ricardo also thinks that the bullying rates have increased and suicide too. Since 2011 52% of teens have been cyberbullied. But as he stated earlier, its a great tool if you use it the right way and has advantages. Ricardo said that he can’t wait to see how the phones will look like in the next twenty years but also hopes that it doesn’t keep getting worse with the negative use.
